While Martha appears to have unpacked more than her fair share of "the boxes", Dan and his office still have a ways to go! The new office kinda looks like the old office ... "eBay central" and a bit disheveled! Hopefully by
Christmas he'll be a bit more organized and settled in! Still working on a short "punch list" of house items with Greg our builder ... but the painters did return this past week and all the marked "blue tape spots" have been addressed. Progress for sure.
Chemo round 12 went "okay" this past Wednesday (December 7th). Labs were good except for a drop in white blood cell counts ... not surprising to my oncologist and no reason for concern at this point. Side effects this round (mainly fatigue and a yucky stomach) have been a bit tougher to manage for some reason ... likely the cumulative effect of the chemo. Still eating well but just don't have a great appetite ... taste buds have been "zapped" I believe. Don't worry Bruce ... Dan's eating plenty of protein as instructed! Next CT scan to measure progress is scheduled for December 28th.
We enjoyed Karen Gale's (Martha's friend from Connecticut) recent visit. Karen and Martha worked together for American Airlines at the Hartford reservation center "many moons ago". The girls enjoyed catching up after so many years.
We're looking forward to Lindsay and Jobe's visit the end of this month! They're driving down with new pug puppy "Bubba" (who we understand may be a bit spoiled already)! It will be great to celebrate Christmas in the new house with them along with Julie, Stefanie, Aaron (Stefanie's boyfriend), Betty, Paul and Yvonne Davenport (Martha's cousin and wife visiting from Washington State) and of course Cavalli and dear old Darjeeling! The Christmas tree is up (a first time ever 9-foot, pre-lit artificial tree!) and looks pretty darn good in the new Great Room.
Very busy weekend ahead ... Dan's flying to Tampa to meet up with Derek and Carrie at Saturday night's NFL game (Cowboys vs Buccaneers). Martha's catering our pastor's daughter's wedding reception Saturday ... "just" heavy appetizers for around 140 guests! Could this be the beginning of "What's Cookin' at Martha's" ... Southern
Edition???
We wish you and yours a very, very Merry Christmas!
God Bless ...
Dan and Martha
