Hi ya'll ... again we hope all is well with you and yours! All things considered we're doing well here in the low country. Our stretch of great weather continues with lots of sunshine and Carolina blue skies most every day. With the shorter days it's getting a bit cooler but no snow and no complaints!
We've been in the new house for a month now and are keeping busy unpacking a whole lot of boxes. We're enjoying our (almost daily) walks on the beach and riding our tandem bike. We even played nine holes of golf on The Plantation Course here on Edisto this week! Well we actually played ten holes of golf ... we just had to play that one extra hole in order to take in the view of the new house (which sits behind the 10th green)! We hadn't played in several years so were quite rusty ... but it was fun to actually play the course we live on. Let's just say
we got our money's worth given the number of shots required to get that little white ball into the cup!
Chemo round 11 went well this past Wednesday (November 16th). Side effects appear to be lessening with each successive round of "maintenance" chemotherapy. While we thought my last scan had revealed "no change" (which was good news), the radiologist report actually documented some additional shrinkage (approx. 7mm) in the thickness of my lung tumor as well as all other sites remaining stable / no change. My oncologist shared this is great news (not just good news) relative to my response to the chemotherapy ... his main goal is have us remain "stable". Have gained a couple of pounds and am keeping a fairly good appetite these days ... both good.
Martha and I are taking a road trip to Myrtle Beach this weekend to attend a Josh Turner (a native South Carolinian country music singer) concert tomorrow night at the House of Blues. We'll stay overnight in Myrtle and return home to Edisto on Sunday. Hopefully the Buffalo Bills will show up this week and play some real football on Sunday!
Can't believe Grandson "Jack" is turning one on Monday November 21st ... Happy Birthday big boy! Where did that year go? Also can't believe his dad Derek is turning 32 on Saturday the 19th! Jack has gotten "SO BIG", maintains that great precious smile of his, and will likely be walking before very long. We're sorry we won't be able to attend
Jack's birthday party in Rochester but will look forward to seeing many great
pics of the memorable event.
Be safe and may God bless ...
