Good news - all of Dan's blood counts . height, weight and hair are all very good! Dr Ellison is very pleased with how well vacation looks on Dan. Dr Ellison's new prescription is "more vacations" (must be time to schedule the next one). It is hard to believe that this is Chemo round 15 and we are eleven months into this battle. ( It was just yesterday it seems, but I know it was a lifetime ago). Dr. Ellison has even said that if Dan "trains" well and his counts are good in March, that he can walk in the Annual Cooper River Bridge "Run". Last year if you remember, Dan was not able to walk with Julie, Jennie, Trey and I. This years walk is March 31 - so training starts tomorrow.
We had two wonderful weeks of vacation. The first week was in Sonoma Valley, CA. It was rainy and cold, however the wine was Great! Dan did not have his taste for wine quite back - but I triumphed! We found a few new wineries that we really loved. Dan tasted a 100 point wine ($480.00)and just loved it. We visited the Charles Shultz museum - Happiness is......... You fill in the blank with what ever makes you the happiest, our list is long! We were able to drive a little bit of US1 and it was so pretty - the weather did clear - and it was a great drive. We went to where they filmed Hichcock's The Birds - fun little town. We left the cold and rainy coast for the beautiful sunshine and 85 degree of Cabo. Please do not believe the media - this part of Mexico is so very safe. We quickly became pool lizards and didn't do anything the rest of the week. We drank Bloody Caesar's and Vodka tonics like champs, and just enjoyed being together. We did spend two great afternoons at the Spa and enjoyed a few dinners around the marina. I know that we keep going back and many of you ask why - but it does the mind and body good, Cabo is so peaceful and the whales were so fun to watch from our chaise lounges.
While we were gone, Darjeeling had a good visit with my mom and Cavalli - all is well with mom - she just seems to be so busy! Stefanie and Aaron moved into a new home on Daniel Island (across the bridge from Charleston) can't wait to see it. Jack went from making a few steps to walking everything - good thing Derek "baby protected" the house - Harley better watch out ! - makes us want March to get here so we can see him walk in person - Lindsay and Jobe seem to be enjoying "Buba" a great deal - I think he has more sweaters than I do - oh, that's right - he lives in a winter climate!!! Julie is doing well - she as well as Dan and I - enjoyed such a wonderful visit with Bernie and Jim Argana, right before we left for vacation. It was so much fun and the dolphins of Edisto put on such a great show for them. Can't wait to have them return.
Well - that is it for today - Dan and I are both very tired - so we send you all love and hugs - can't wait to hear
