As Fred and Cindy left, so did our time in the rental on Edisto. We can't believe how quick the last 6 months has gone by. It has been so much fun being on the beach and we can't wait to get back. We have moved to my mom's new condo in West Ashley, about 40 minutes from Edisto, 15 minutes to Julie's and about 10 minutes from Stefanie's new apartment. Did I forget to mention she also has arrived in South Carolina. We are so happy that she is here and she also found a job at High Cotton (part of the group Julie's restaurant is in). Lindsay, let's go back for brunch now!!! We do plan to visit the beach and our new home as Greg continues to build on our dream a few times a week. We also look forward to seeing our new church family on Sundays when we visit the beach. Their support during this time in our lives is so important. I am just not sure making Bananna Pudding is my thing!!! (a story for when you all have time).
Today was a chemo day - but didn't turn out like we thought. Not a bad thing, just not what we thought. Dr Ellison is just so pleased with Dan's progress. His blood plateelets were a little low and therfore he could not recieve chemo this week and has been rescheduled for next Wednesday. Last time we were there and passed on the good news about Dan tumor - today we found out just how much smaller the tumor is. It started out at 2.1 centimeters and was last mesured at 1.2! A 50% reductions!!!! And that is great news. He is still tired and doesn't have an appetite but has not lost any weight and that is very good. Me on the other hand - I have gained weight - perhaps it is just stress and a problem for another time.
We are just so fortune to be here at Mom's and her new home is beautiful. Darjeeling and Cavalli are back together and enjoying sleeping on Mom's couch together. It will be fun to explore the area around her new home and the Charleston sites.
We would like to wish you all a wonderful Father's Day week-end with family and friends. We are so excited for Derek as he celebrates his first "Dad's" Day with Jack. We so look forward to our next celebration with them. We also are so happy for Lindsay and Jobe as they get ready to eat the top of their wedding cake!!! Can't believe it has been a whole year already.
